Gondwanan Rainforest Tours

Exploring the Ancient Gondwanan Rainforests of Southeast Queensland
Step into a living time capsule in the breathtaking Gondwana Rainforests of southeast Queensland, where towering ancient trees and diverse ecosystems tell a story that began over 180 million years ago. These rainforests, part of the largest subtropical rainforest system on Earth, are home to plant and animal species that have survived since the supercontinent Gondwana ruled the planet. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, these forests offer a unique glimpse into Earth's evolutionary past, with ancient trees like the Antarctic Beech standing as guardians of a bygone era.

A Vast and Vital Sanctuary
Spanning over 366,500 hectares, from Newcastle to Brisbane, the rainforests are a sanctuary for more than 200 rare or threatened species, including the elusive Albert’s Lyrebird. They are vital for conservation and support diverse wildlife, including mountain brushtail possums, sugar gliders, and the Richmond birdwing butterfly. The diverse landscapes of Lamington National Park and Springbrook National Park, both parts of this incredible region, offer experiences of lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls like Twin Falls and Purlingbrook Falls, and the magical glowworm caves of Natural Bridge.
